Wow, I really enjoyed reading this book. It was so easy to read that I did not put it down. Real life examples made the topic of saving money really interesting and enjoyable. This was an excellent book. I recommend it to everybody who is interested in getting out of debt, no matter how old you are !

I was disappointed that this book dealt very little with late retirement planning. It mostly concentrates on getting out of debt.

I’ve read a few other books by some of the Financial Gurus that are on TV, but I always felt like they were talking to someone else, not me. It seemed like they were people who already had it made (well to do, already enough money to retire, etc. ), so it was hard to relate to what they were writing about.

This book was different. It was for real.

The author is a guy who bounced around in a couple of jobs and didn’t always make enough money to pay all the bills. I can relate to that, it’s how I got into debt.

Then, one day, he realized he was over 40 and there was no way he could get out of debt or retire unless something changed. He also didn’t always pay close attention to where all the money was going. I could relate to that too.

For me, it wasn’t just the parts of the book where he talks about how to save money on cars and mortgages, etc. It was the beginning of the book where he talks about changing how you think about money and your spending habits.

After reading what he said, I really believe I can get my finances on track now and get some money saved for retirement.

This book is easy to understand for Spanish speaking people, “este libro es facil de entender para aquellas personas con el lenguaje ingles limitado. ” I am hispanic and did not have trouble following Mr. White’s suggestions and ideas. “Las ideas son practicas y se pueden seguir al pie de la letra. Gracias Senor White.
Thank you, Teresa Nin

This is a great book and the advise contained in John White’s book has never been more timely and applicable then now.

Written from true life experiences the author lays out very practical advise to extract yourself from a life debt and living “hand to mouth”. No macro-economic mubo-jumbo just straight forward logically laid out financial advise for getting on a sane finacial track.

I believe if young people apply the principles laid out in John L. White’s book they can avoid many of the consumer credit/debt pitfalls that are ruining the US economy. I feel so strongly that I’m insisting my college age kids all read John’s book.
